1 Agreement to terms

By purchasing our service or using our website at firstrole.co.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our service.

These Terms apply to all users of the site, including without limitation browsers, customers, and contributors of content.

2 What we provide

First Role provides a done-for-you portfolio website service for graduates and students. For a one-time payment of £100, we:

• Build a professional, personalised portfolio website based on the information you provide
• Publish it at a permanent URL in the format firstrole.co.uk/p/your-name
• Host it free of charge for the lifetime of the service
• Send you the live link by email once it is published
• Provide up to 2 content updates per year upon request

3 How it works

Our process works as follows:

1. Purchase — you pay £100 via our secure checkout (powered by Stripe)
2. Form — you receive a link to complete your portfolio details form
3. Build — we build your portfolio using the information you provide
4. Delivery — we publish your portfolio and email you the live link within 24 hours of form submission

The quality and completeness of your portfolio depends on the information you provide in your form. We build what you give us — the more detail you include, the better your portfolio will look.

4 Delivery

We aim to publish your portfolio within 24 hours of receiving your completed form, excluding weekends and UK public holidays.

The 24-hour window begins when you submit your form — not when you make payment. If you pay but do not submit your form, the clock does not start.

Delivery may be delayed in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. We will notify you by email if this occurs.

5 Payment

Our service is priced at £100 (one-time payment). All prices include VAT where applicable.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

First Role does not store your payment card details. All payment data is handled securely by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

Your payment confirmation and receipt will be sent to the email address you provide at checkout.

6 Refunds

Our refund policy is as follows:

To request a refund, email hello@firstrole.co.uk with your order details. Eligible refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

7 Edits and updates

Your one-time payment includes up to 2 content updates per year.

A content update means changes to the information displayed on your portfolio — for example, adding a new job, updating your skills, or changing your target role.

To request an update, email hello@firstrole.co.uk with the changes you'd like made. We aim to process update requests within 2 working days.

Content updates do not include redesigns, structural changes, or requests to move your portfolio to a different URL.

8 Hosting and availability

Your portfolio will be hosted at firstrole.co.uk/p/your-name free of charge for the lifetime of the First Role service.

We aim to maintain 99%+ uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance, hosting issues, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary downtime.

In the future, we may offer a premium option to host your portfolio on a custom domain (e.g. yourname.co.uk) for an additional fee. This is optional and will never affect your existing free portfolio URL.

First Role reserves the right to discontinue the service with a minimum of 90 days' written notice to all active portfolio holders. In this event, we will provide you with a full export of your portfolio content.

9 Your content

You retain full ownership of all content you provide to us (your name, experience, photo, etc.).

By submitting your information, you grant First Role a licence to use that content solely for the purpose of building, displaying, and maintaining your portfolio website.

You are responsible for ensuring that:

• All information you provide is accurate and truthful
• You have the right to use any photos you submit (including your profile photo)
• Your content does not infringe any third-party rights
• Your content does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, or offensive

First Role reserves the right to remove or refuse to publish content that violates these requirements, without refund.

10 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, First Role shall not be liable for:

• Any failure to secure employment or interviews
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage
• Loss of opportunity, revenue, or anticipated earnings
• Any loss arising from reliance on the content of your portfolio
• Temporary unavailability of your portfolio due to hosting or technical issues

Our total liability to you in connection with this service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (£100).

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11 Termination

You may request the removal of your portfolio and associated data at any time by emailing hello@firstrole.co.uk. We will process removal requests within 30 days.

First Role reserves the right to remove your portfolio without notice if:

• Your content is found to violate these Terms
• Your portfolio contains unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content
• We are required to do so by law or court order

No refund will be issued in the event of termination due to a breach of these Terms.

12 Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform or seek redress through UK consumer protection bodies.

13 Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.

For significant changes, we will notify existing customers by email.
